Master Stan Martin's VIII Dan promotion was held in Casper, Wyoming on April 4th, 2009.

Several groups of USTF-UTAH members attempted the trip to Casper.  However, only two groups made it.  Mr. Rob Riley and his wife; and Ms. Heather Gemmell, Mr. Eric Gemmell, and their daughter Athena.

The Van 7 ( Mr. William Dubbeld, Mr. Chris Wadium, Mr. James Sryokum, Mr. Grant Bradbury, Mr. Dustin Ochoa, Ms. Bradbury, and Mr. Brett Dubbeld) had quite an adventure in the snow.  But, finally had to turn back at Rawlins, WY, and head back to Utah!

Mr. William Dubbeld, Mr. Chris Wadium, Mr. Grant Bradbury, Mr. Brett Dubbeld, Mr. James Sryokum; Mr. Dustin Ochoa and Ms. Bradbury (who are both back there somewhere) are a jolly bunch during the drive from Salt Lake to Casper.

5 1/2 hours later and I-80 is still closed!  I-80 finally opened around 10 am.  The Utah group got to Rawlins at 1 p.m. and found that the road to Casper had been closed!  The travelers finally had to turn around and head back to Salt Lake City at 1:25 pm, a very disappointed group!

Snow and wind in Wyoming on the way back to Salt Lake City.

Leaving Salt Lake City at 3:00 a.m., getting to Evanston, Wyoming at 4:30 a.m. to find I-80 closed!

Mr. Grant Bradbury takes a picture of the wonderful "spring" conditions.
